In 2026, UIC Arquitectos and IIT Arquitectos came together for a collaborative panel with four architecture professionals. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn from their experiences, play Lotería, and share food while connecting with peers from both universities.
Collaborations like this help strengthen the student network and create more opportunities to learn from people across the profession.
Panelists included Paola Albarracin-Denzer, Brenda Cardenas, Omar Rodriguez, and Ana Karen Centeno Avila.

“Attending and volunteering at Colectivos as an Ambassador within UIC Arquitectos has given me a sense of belonging and community. Especially, as a Latina architecture student in a field where we have become underrepresented. Arquitectos has done the complete opposite. I am excited to flourish and discover new opportunities from volunteering and attending more events.”
Coordinated by UIC Arquitectos in collaboration with Arquitectos Student Outreach representative Fernando Licea, this firm crawl gave students the opportunity to visit AP Monarch, Architrave, and JGMA, meet design professionals, and experience different architectural workplaces firsthand.
IIT Arquitectos students will visit JGMA’s UIC Innovation Center Expansion project for a firsthand look at an active construction site. The visit offers an opportunity to see architectural ideas taking shape, learn about the building process, and connect classroom learning with professional practice.

Designed as a signature sponsored student event, the session brings students together to practice observation, drawing, and creative expression while meeting peers from another campus.
Ryan Chester, AIA, is an architect, educator, author, and accomplished architectural sketcher. His work and teaching emphasize drawing as a way to observe, understand, and communicate the built environment. He has led sketching programs and received recognition for his architectural illustrations.
